What we do
We help ambitious technology companies earn attention, build credibility, and control their narrative at the moments that matter most.
Journalist relationships, story placement, and an ongoing press office for technology companies at every stage.
Messaging frameworks, narrative development, and communications strategy for fundraising, launch, and expansion.
Navigating the policy landscape, connecting companies with government bodies, regulators, and industry groups.
Briefing the industry analysts and researchers who shape how buyers and investors see your category.
Founder profiles, op-ed placement, broadcast preparation, and thought-leadership programmes.
Build-led campaigns using our own and our clients' technology, earning attention a press release never could.
How we work
Most agencies pitch the stories that already exist. We create them: with original research that becomes the reference point, and build-led activations that earn attention on their own terms.
We build proprietary data, indices, and reports that set the terms of the debate. Our numbers become the ones journalists, analysts, and AI answer-engines cite.
We get clients on camera. We prepare founders for live broadcast and place them on the networks that move markets, not just in press releases.
No account managers filtering your message. The people who develop your strategy are the same people who execute it.
Selected work
From an unknown Irish startup to CNBC and BBC Business Live. We made Pointy's founder the go-to voice on local retail technology, with live broadcast appearances before the Google acquisition.
We built the "taking on Microsoft" narrative that became Workvivo's media identity, sustaining coverage from seed stage through to the Zoom acquisition across TechCrunch, Forbes, and Fortune.
40+ pieces of coverage in 72 hours around the raise, running the full media strategy including crisis and public affairs around drone regulation.
We built the media narrative for Encord's AI data-annotation platform, with coverage and thought leadership across TechCrunch, Forbes, and Harvard Business Review.
Original research
We run our own research programme: proprietary indices and reports that generate earned media and make Inference the reference point.
A survivorship-corrected census of AI-named company formation across roughly thirty national registers. About 1 in 200 new companies in the UK and Ireland were AI-named by 2025, a several-fold rise since ChatGPT.

About
Inference was founded by Mark O'Toole on a clear thesis: the best communications happen when you understand both the technology and the market it operates in. We work closely with a focused number of clients. We don't do volume. We do precision.
Mark spent 15+ years in tech communications, at agencies including 150 Bond, representing companies from pre-seed to acquisition across fintech, AI, SaaS, and deep tech. Inference works from Dublin and London, with Ireland as a genuine advantage for companies entering Europe.
